Not everything is adoption related, but not everything isn’t either.

This phrase is one we hear often, but untangling just how to understand our child’s needs and respond appropriately is a parenting dilemma that adoptive parents often face.  In Adoption & Discipline, we delve into the vital role that connection plays in this unique journey. Nurturing and guiding a child who has come to your family through adoption often requires a special understanding of their emotional needs and backgrounds. In this course, we will explore how establishing a strong and empathetic connection, before offering correction, not only fosters a loving parent-child relationship but also helps your child develop a strong self-esteem as well as a sense of security, trust, and belonging. Join us in this transformative learning experience to gain the insights and skills needed to navigate some of the complexities of adoption with confidence and compassion.

Adoption & Discipline

is a short, online, self paced course

focused on understanding how using a gentle, connection-focused discipline strategy can strengthen your relationship and attachment with your adopted child.  Using the latest, evidence-based research, Adoption & Discipline helps you change the lens you look at your child with and acknowledge how your own triggers and fears impact your parenting. This online course includes interactive case studies and reflection exercises to help you go through the material in an experiential way.
